indeed your posts are worth being read, as opposite to the politics BS that (on this thread) gets inflated by the day.

I mean it, even though i am sitting on the other side (than yours)

Yes, I ran Win2000 for 5 months w/o reboot (except when network softwares upgrade required reboot) on the full business environment. BTW, I am not MSFT employee either.

The "someone" I was talking to was at a company with their own direct connection to the backbone. I was going through my local ISP. I'm quite sure that Ebay's service was down. Whether you believe me or not is another matter and not entirely relevant. Interesting that you characterize my experience as anecdotal and somehow valueless, then cite your own isolated, anecdotal experience with Dell's site that could actually have been a problem with your ISP.

As far as Dell and Linux servers, are you saying that Dell is moving their commercial Web site to Linux? I do not believe that is the case. It was my understanding that they are offering Linux as a choice in operating systems for the servers they sell, but that is a completely different issue, as I'm sure you're aware.

Regarding personal bias, we are all biased to some degree or another. I state my affiliation in my profile and the fact that I post my own opinions as an individual. I try very hard to be honest and accurate in my posts. I try not to twist the facts, and I try to keep debate on topic, even if I learn I'm wrong as a result. I'm just saying that I think your posts would be more interesting if you did the same.
