DOE numbers out. Still very bullish but not as ridiculous as API was.

Dabum. Be interesting to see what kind of confirmation we get on this find. Reading further into the the report:

"Another possible drawback is the obscure Skidmore Energy Inc. Skidmore is the parent company of the Moroccan-based Lonestar, which made the Talsint discovery. Earlier this year, Lonestar agreed to invest $50 million in exploration and drilling in Morocco, reported Reuters on Aug. 22.

The Texas-based company may not have the promised money and could have rushed the announcement in order to attract investment quickly. According to the Texas State Comptroller’s Office, Skidmore is in danger of forfeiting its corporation privileges because it hasn’t filed its 2000 corporate franchise tax"

Probably safe to be from Missouri for awhile on this story<g>. But thanks for the heads up. They probably have something pretty good, just may not be as big as they are claiming. AND the King might be padding the est to for political purposes himself.

Morocco is quite something. Drove around there for a week in 1981.

dabum, Good Morning,

Don't get hooked. The king is making lots of promises, but it looks to me that he has yet to spud. Typically these kinds of sales pitches are based on a geophysicist's take on regional structure - in other words, they shot some seismic lines, identified a structure, and did a rough volumetric estimate based areal extent and best-guess thickness - "romance" geology (as Michael Halbouty calls it) at its best - but the actual presence of anything in that structure is yet to be determined.

This is similar to Nurabayev's words about the Kazakh Caspian's 50+ billion barrels, based on an oil show in one untested well.

Is it there, and if it is, is it recoverable? Only a discovery well followed by a series of delineation wells will tell you.

Regards to all,

Aggie
