>>Oracle may gain some share from other players over the next few years, but I bet SEBL doesn't lose any market share.<<

That's a very good point. I doubt that Oracle will be able to penetrate into SEBL's market by entering the lower end of the market. Not very likely considering their CRM second tier quality and SEBL's firm grip on the higher end market.

And I think it's a good opportunity to accumulate every time this kind of story goes aroung, because in the end SEBL will bounce.

TD - harsh......but generally true. You know Neil has been around for a few years. But I don't consider him to be the savviest or most clued in analyst.

This latest stab at SEBL won't fly because large companies (SEBL's bread and butter) want to own the software in house, especially for a mobile app like SFA. Moreover, the SFA game is done and SEBL won. The current war, WebCRM, finds Oracle nowhere in sight.

David, my thoughts exactly.

If this note had come from Chuck Phillips (or Bob Austrian, or Jim Pickrel), I would pay attention.

But Neal Herman??? And what did he say again? Oracle is targeting the market? There's nothing new here.

Hopefully, the stock will drop into the 130s or so and I can go out and buy a bunch more. A split in Sep and earnings in Oct.

As far as Oracle gaining market share, I still worry if head-to-head Oracle may take a couple of deals from Siebel, but I still haven't seen it. I did some checking on the recent rumor that Oracle had sold CRM into CMB (Chase). Turns out, it was for intelligence SW (i.e. reports), not CRM. CMB is still a SEBL customer, and Oracle still doesn't have any references. The product is still based on Forms.
