I may have misunderstood and mispoke. I was referring to what I understood was an emergency funding for fire-fighting, in which money was diverted to land grab programs.

But I went back and reviewed the articles I had read and you're right, they clearly discuss "prevention" and not emergency funding for the ongoing fires.

In this case, you are justified in speculating at the number of homes that were lost due to misdirected fire prevention funds. And this was still pursued even after the Los Alamos fires?

Oh well.... Just a couple of more months left....
