hjm, not true. the avg bull on amzn has list his/her butt. look at volume price charts.

let me give a simple example.

let's say 1 share is purchased in a given time frame for $1. now let's say 20 shares are purchased in the next time frame for $10.

the avg purchase price is $9.57.

if the stock drops to $5 in the next period, the "avg" investor has lost 48% of their investment even though purchases were made at $1 and $10.

volume times price is key.

sure, a few people bought low and sold high. many, many, many more people bought higher and are holding now.

net result - massive losses.
