Elmer,

You are not paying attention when you are on the AMD thread. AMD has never relinquished the speed crown, there are no 1 GHz Pentiums, much less 1.13 GHz.

Elmer,

Before they get around to 1.2GHz, P4 will be on the scene and leave AMD in the dust for good.

When will P4 be shipping?

Elmer,

We'll see if I'm right.

The last prediction of yours I remember to be correct was the DRDRAM test problems prediction from 2 years ago.

The P4 vs. 1.2GHz Athlon prediction is likely to go down as one of your worst.

Re: Between CuMine and P4, if AMD's upcoming August 28th release is just 1.1GHz, which will still trail CuMines 1.133GHz, they will never again hold the Speed Crown. Before they get around to 1.2GHz, P4 will be on the scene and leave AMD in the dust for good.

Interesting. How well do you expect IIS, Oracle, SQL Server, MS Office, JAVA VM, etc. to perform on P4?

Dan
