First, Wetherall said he wanted CMGI to be name known in every household. This is something that will not happen overnight, however this is a step in that direction.

second, It does show alot of credibility. I mean thats alot of cash to throw down. Must be pretty serious to throw down that kind of cash.

thirdly.....This new accounting method or reporting method....yet another cog in the wheel. Would wetherall be doing this if it wasnt the right move? Folks are leary of how cmgi does it's books and leary of the success rate of the inuts. Great, well we'll do it your way then, and still make you happy!!!...after all, you dont think DW agreed to this new way of reporting/accounting, unless he knew the street/investors, would like it???

fourth, lets take a look at the numbers. if 98% of the companies under cmgi's umbrella fold, they still hit it bigtime with the 2% that succeed. Flowerpower.com??? Who cares....but DW was smart enough to know where the internet and where cmgi was heading. They HAD to be what they WERE, in order to become what they ARE. I could care less of whocares.com folds and cmgi was the majority owner. As long as certain aspects of their business are succesful, which they are, all is fine. DW is now making sure people know this.

Anyway, I dont have as much cmgi as I used to, but still have some, and dont have many worries about the long term. If she shows real strength, I will certainly buy back more shares on the upswing.

I tend to agree with you Scarecrow... am glad to see us where we are today, but don't really understand it... I mean, did this deal create more exposure than CMGI had before ?!... did Patriots fan go out and buy CMGI shares...! all I know is that the deal created some media coverage and the share price moved nicely... my only fear is that this might be short lived and that when the dust settles, we fall hard... what did exactly happen today ?!... does anyone know...?!

best regards
amein

scarecrow, you're exactly right-- but if naming things gets more shareholder value, then i say dw is a genius for figuring it out and maybe they can rebrand the state of massachusetts (or however the hell you spell it) to the state of cmgi. amazing.
