Hurricane paths

Around this time of year, hurricanes tend to go east to west. However, when they hit land, they tend to hook to the north. The later in the season it gets, the more they tend to trend to the north. Note: this is in general, hurricanes are affected by lows and highs and the phase of the moon, there is no real way of predicting the path of any single hurricane, just ask the National Weather Service. This is based on living on the Texas Gulf Coast all my life and studying them in college.
