Semiconductor maker PMC-Sierra Inc. PMCS on Wednesday said shareholders of Quantum Effect Devices Inc. QEDI have approved PMC Sierra's acquisition of Quantum Effect.

Under the merger, which is expected to be completed on Aug. 24, Quantum Effect shareholders will receive 0.385 shares of PMC-Sierra common stock for each share of Quantum Effect. <<

TD mentioned a BOFA analyst positive comments regarding AMCC, and I would suspect that short covering and tangential benefit would occur in other broadband IC companies.

TXCC, didn't get much help, but it's had such a run lately, it needs to consolidate just a little.
