It was approved by the Democrats because they agreed it was a worthy goal. Actually, I prefer the military spaceplane at $3 billion each armed with proton beam pulse weapons and laser guided smart missiles.

(BTW, Clinton is almost ready to commit to a $300 billion SDI initiative. He thinks Reagan's idea has high merit for the 21st Century.)

It is indisputable that National Defense is a role that the Federal Government and only the Federal Government can fill. Waste fraud and abuse are inextricably part of the nature of government. It is part of the cost of defending the country.

the B1 bomber at a billion dollars each...was that a Democratic initiative?
