More on foreign currency accounts for US residents:

If you are a high net worth individual (more than $1 million) and want to make a large deposit (I suspect $100k or more), these guys seem worth a look. Based on their website they seem solid and long-established.

OK I got it.

The rates are so low that I would just as soon sacrifice the interest and have the total flexibility of owning Euro travelers checks. Of course. who knows, American Express might go bankrupt but they have been solid for an awfully long time.

For aggressive and safe hedging, where you know exactly what you are risking, the Euro calls (if I ever get them figured out) seem best.
