When I lived in the midwest while going to college, I had a basement apartment. I still marvel at my accidental wisdom. To this day, I prefer earthquakes to tornados and all the rest of the natural disasters. I don't envy you living where you do. How's things?

"Maybe a little caloused when you hear the tornado warnings to walk out and look for it. Getting rain now. Rain and winds so hard the rain looks like snow. Oh well we needed the rain."

Misspent a summer of my youth in Hutchinson, Kansas. Many nights (nights usually, not days for some reason) we would get bombarded by lightning. Right outside it would hit again and again. The flash and the bang right together, like artillery must sound. I would nervously wait for the one to hit our house. Without the shrapnel and percussion, the light and the sound were pretty fun. No matter how much storms fascinated me, I would never go outside in it though. Fortunately never had the real pleasure of an artillery barrage. In the days, would scan the skies for the start of a funnel. Never had the "pleasure" there either.

I love storms, CA practically never has storms.
