The rescue was Jimmy Carter's baby. And those men died heroically trying to save their fellow countrymen. Iran Contra was nothing more than rogue operation conducted by some guys who got too big for their britches. Reagan shares some culpability because it happened on his watch. But unlike Clinton he cooperated fully, turned over documents made himself available for testimony and required the same of his subordinates. JLA
