What you see is not mankind becoming mindless animals. You see the results of some programmed Americans -- programmed almost from birth since just after WWII. As for evolution itself, we will determine our own evolution. As we begin to move outward to the stars and planets we will have the ability to reprogram our DNA and probably will merge with machines. The future human race will be a biological/machine hybrid able to adapt to many different environments, tap into extensive knowledge bases and have lifespans of many thousands of years. FT
