He was talking TO you not about you. Or at least that is what I understood the distinction to be. Why is a knowledge of science relevant? Or is it merely important to insult someone in as many areas as possible? So let's see- Cosmic shouldn't have posted TO you at all, in public, even though what he was writing about was posting about people, he is ignorant (you think) in science AND the oil business- and you know this based on his SHORT tenure on SI. You also say his experience on the threads is "pathetically short". Can you be sure he wasn't a lurker? And what about your knowledge of Cosmic? It can't be very extensive due to his "pathetically short" tenure, and yet you can make a guess that his ignorance of science is as great as you are SURE his ignorance of the oil business is. Perhaps your knowledge of Cosmic is as limited as your knowledge of me? Perhaps it is even more limited. You've known me longer and you don't know me at all. That would make me guess you know less than zero about Cosmic. I don't believe there was a single insult in that. I wonder if you can do as well.
