Wonder who the Israeli co. is?

<<<<JDS mulls $150 mln Israeli plant-paper
TEL AVIV, Aug 24 (Reuters) - Canada's JDS Uniphase is considering building a new fiber optics component factory in Israel with an investment of $150 million, the Israeli daily Ha'aretz reported on Thursday.

According to Ha'aretz, JDS is in talks with a large, unnamed Israeli company concerning a joint investment in the plant. A JDS vice president is expected to hold talks about the deal in November when he visits Israel's Telecom 2000 exhibition, the paper said.

A spokesman for Israel's Ministry of Trade and Industry said he was not aware of JDS' interest in building an Israeli plant. The ministry is involved in giving incentives and tax breaks for foreign direct investment in Israel.

Israeli fiber optic products and processes are currently tested in Europe and the United States, increasing the time and cost of bringing products to market, Ha'aretz said. The new plant, a first in Israel, would allow Israeli firms to be more competitive. >>>>
