Read-Rite is Qualified by Samsung Electronics Corporation as Launch Supplier of Their Spin Point 20.4 GB Per Platter Head and Head Stack Assemblies - Production Shipments Underway

FREMONT, Calif., Aug. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Read-Rite Corporation RDRT today announced that it has been qualified by Samsung Corporation as the launch supplier for the 20 GB per platter GMR heads and head stack assemblies on its Spin Point V20400 hard disk drive program. Samsung's new leading edge 5400 RPM hard disk drives will have capacities ranging from 10 GB to 40 GB. Read-Rite is ramping production and volume shipments have already begun.
