Been looking at some of the competition. Not many "neutral exchange" players. The original neutral exchange, PAIX, was purchased by Abovenet and then inherited by Metro Media Fiber Networks (MFNX or just "Muffin") when they in turn bought AboveNet. The founders of EQIX were the original developers and managers of PAIX. Here's the PAIX home page:

To preserve its neutrality, PAIX is run as a separate entity within Muffin.
