There are national forests where even the forest service hasn't been allowed to use a chain saw of late!
Yes, it may be nice good to have some native natural forest, but there are almost none of those in North America. I would feel far better if our government didn't operate on the "all or none" school of thought. I'll tell you what, It will be a long time before anything grows on some of these mountains which burned below ground level due to root burn out & now the top soil is washing away. Erosion too should be a great concern of any TRUE environmental movement!

There is good news even in this though. As the soil washes away, there is gold for me to pan!

Well, the people how have had their land stolen (with funds which were designated for fire prevention) may get them back, BUT I doubt those with property losses from the fires will ever be made whole....
