Regulation FD

In answer to your question: On August 15, the SEC published Regulation FD (Fair Disclosure) banning the selective disclosure by public companies of MATERIAL nonpublic information to securities analysts and other investment professionals. The new rule will become effective 60 days after publication in the Federal Register (i.e., mid-October). Hope this helps.
