Correct. I got mixed up as I used the money from COMS pre IPO to buy a new car this spring near distribution time. But the improving situation for SPINCO can certainly boost QCOM's price before distribution as it did COMS- especially if suitors are rumored.

Small float will make IPO more attractive to momo IPO players - easier to move the stock. High-octane tech Fundies like small floats as well - easier to walk up the price for end of month window dressings.

For price action, the smaller the initial float, the better.

Lots of volatility, however.
