i think it's a trap...remember the COT's on silver and gold i posted recently? the funds and small traders are getting increasingly short in gold, and are liquidating long positions in silver...actually in silver there's the peculiarity that the commercials are rarely net long, but they haven't reduced their short position as sharply as now in a long time. the market is laboring under rumors over Chinese supply..probably way overblown.

it all hinges on the dollar imo...if the Euro wakes up, the PM's will too...in any case we're coming into the seasonally favorable period for gold. my guess is that any further weakness is probably a buying opportunity, as the commercials tend to position themselves a bit early most of the time.

the Swiss Franc is showing some life lately...that's a positive factor if it continues.
