Joe, some of the Socket A boards are rated for the 512M Dimms, which gets you to 1.5G. Not sure which.

I second those comments about memory and disk I/O being more important on servers.

If you need a board that supports lots of RAM, and want an Athlon, I've put 2 Gigabytes of RAM on an Abit KA7 board with an Athlon 850. It's been a very reliable system.

You might also consider that, on a server, 512K slow cache may be as good or better than 256K fast cache.
