A.

I don't feel comfortable giving specific advice on stocks. My comment indicated that I've done my own DD and I feel comfortable continuing to hold my own, albeit underwater position, in qcom. I've even bought some stock at recent firesale prices (approx. $64.00 a shr.) in my taxable account.

Seems like the company will yield good results in the long-term. Timing is everything, but my own Leaps were at 155 and later at 135 ('02s I might add). I sold them because the actual share price was more attractive to me.

Do you feel more comfortable using the leverage to control more shares through leaps rather than owning shares? If I owned the shares outright I know I'd probably feel more comfortable not trying to time the market. I'm long on the stock and I don't try to use options on a stock that has been the recipient of so much FUD.

You sound concerned for any number of factors. Do you follow the qcom thread or the G&K thread where there is a continual dialogue about investment strategies related to holding the q?

I suggest you do like RR mentioned in a recent post about spending some time doing due diligence on CIEN (before adding to his portfolio). The preface to G&K investing has lots of great references on where to look for information on companies, especialy gorillas which I believe qcom is one of the hairy primates.

Good luck.
