Tanzania: Exploration Licensing Round Road Show Bound for US & UK

DODOMA, Aug 29 (energy24.com) - As the latest round of Tanzania’s offshore oil exploration licensing round draws ever closer, the country’s Energy Minister has announced plans to hold road shows in Houston and London to launch the round in mid-September.

Abdullah Kogoda is hosting the sessions, organised in conjunction with oil services company Western Geophysical. The road show will visit Houston on September 14 and London on September 19.

Six license areas will be covered in the round, all located in the Pemba Basin. The round follows an extensive seismic survey of the region, covering 7,000km.

Western Geophysical stated that they have collected a further round of seismics, covering another 4,300km of the area.

A number of smaller energy firms have expressed interest in crude exploration in Tanzania. These include Canada-based Antrim Energy and Canop.

In the UK, Paladin Ndovu Resources and Dublin International Petroleum are also vying for opportunities in exploration
