Don't get me wrong. I'm a fan of SCMR, but would like to pick it up at a better risk to reward scenario, considering how it sold off during the Nasdaq meltdown.

I like to keep tabs on the market cap because it allows you to compare high flyers with other high flyers. Examples are BRCD and AMCC which roughly had the same revenue in this quarter but whose market caps are in the 20 billion range.

It also gives you better perspective of what the market would allow. Example would be JDSU which combined with SDLI would represent now about $160 billion market cap. This starts to bump against NT at $200+.

Of course, all these pail in comparison with CSCO at $400+. Now if only Cisco will cooperate and break out of its slump and got to $600 billion cap, then the SCMR, CIEN, PMCS, AMCC, JNPR $20-$50 guys wouldn't look too rich.
