Too many variables, so you take a guess, make your bet and hang on (no kidding, ha!) I mainly look at marketcap, and sometimes cash and burn rate, but part of the time it comes down to whether I like the CEO or not and they seem like a strait shooter (yikes!). But then there is axph, and what has Walker done for that one lately, so what do I know? Take Synaptic for another example--one of my cheap roach motels--I probably have spent ten hours reading about that one this past year, and I could spend another ten and still just be guessing. All I do now to keep up a bit is try and read a little when I see a GPCR paper jump out at me. But I still don't know squat, certainly nothing much compared to the rest of the biofreaks here on SI. {Oh, I also like to check the osip and kdus quotes each day, oooof!) All I know is these receptors seem like a good place to look, the boss at snap seems to be pretty frugal, and in time maybe Lampert will be right on that one. That is enough for me, for now. "Cheap for a reason?" and around and around you go, it gets kind of old, "every dog has his day" etc etc. Nope, cant say anything intelligent on cheapness. Maybe dirt cheap is simply when everybody is crying in their beer, pissing and moaning that any given stock has been hammered, just like I did when Gizzmo got halved. Good lord, I've got fifty messages piled up on the threads which I've bookmarked. That is quite enough from me, especially when there is good stuff like this to be found on SI: Six interesting posts on the valuation thread begin here:Message 14260337 A good message on the DNDN thread:Message 14269311
