whats really scary is when you start agreeing with misc. no name "analysts" quoted in this article and that, about future trends. Makes you wonder if you are on the wrong track entirely... :-/

One specific sector Baker has been focusing on within her fund is the middleware area. Many of the B2B exchanges require interaction on a computer-to-computer basis, also known as connectivity.
(known as connectivity - you don't say doh)

Interaction using a browser-based system would be too slow and cumbersome. Middleware companies allow computers to smoothly interact with each other and are ideally used in B2B connections. Several middleware companies she highly favors include: Tibco Software (TIBX 97), WebMethods (WEBM 104 1/2), BEA Systems (BEAS 58), Vitria (VITR 39 7/8) and CrossWorlds Software (CWLD 15 3/4). "Our fund has put a large focus on investing in companies that specialize in connectivity. . . Those are the investments that we've really focused on because we believe that technology will lead the ability of the B2B exchanges to transact volume."
