Wasn't it ExxonMobil that recently announced fuel cell development for automotive transportation that uses gasoline?

GM and Exxon Mobil

DETROIT, Aug 10 (Reuters) - In 10 years, large numbers of vehicles using gasoline-powered fuel cells could get twice the mileage and emit fewer pollutants than today's cars and trucks, General Motors Corp. (NYSE:GM - news) officials said on Thursday.

GM and Exxon Mobil Corp. (NYSE:XOM - news) announced on Thursday they have improved technology to power fuel cells using gasoline, in a development that may result in a cleaner and more efficient alternative to internal combustion engines in automobiles.

........

Burns said city buses and other commercial vehicles may be the first to use the new technology, probably within a few years. But by 2010, perhaps hundreds of thousands of vehicles could be powered by fuel cells, including passenger cars and trucks.

Zeuspaul, A 75% efficiency on a fuel cell would be really outstanding....most fuel cells are back in the 35-45% efficiency range...Of course NG fuel cells put out as a by product/"waste stream" just H2O...So you'd just have a little water dripping out of your tailpipe....

So all things being equal environmental agencies would prefer NG fuel cells versus gasoline-powered fuel cells- take a whack at solving those high ozone days in so many major cities worldwide.....
