Something's wrong with AMD's manufacturing and you can't get away from it by waving your hands.

If you say so. You might consider:

1) Finding a store that sells computers
2) Walking into (see above)
3) Looking around at what's for sale

I did just that. And all the cheap slow machines were Intel based, and all the fast, expensive machines were AMD based. Considering that profits from selling 1 high end CPU are about equal to profits from selling 10 low end CPUs, that ain't bad. I guess that if that's what happens when something's wrong with manufacturing, then let's have more of it!
