The latest tracking poll by Portrait of America/Rasmussen shows that Republican George W. Bush is regaining his lead over Al Gore.

The poll found that 44% of Americans would vote for Bush if the election was held today, compared to 40.5% for Gore.

Third party candidate Ralph Nader pulled 3% and Pat Buchanan, 2%.

In the electoral college, poll numbers indicate Bush has a commanding lead, 341 votes against Gore's 150. The poll 47 electoral votes are still up for grabs.

The tracking poll suggests Gore's momentum has not only stopped, but may be receding.

Arctic explorers have always have had to contend with leads of open water. Strong currents sweep around the pole causing the ice pack shift.

[Suggestion, get a snack... maybe a pizza... and mull over this for a few hours. Perhaps research some of the observations which suggests what I say is true.]
