ST, if you go by past stock price history, NVLS and AMAT
come out about even on a 100 week chart. KLAC is lower.
100 weeks ago was near the cycle low.

WHY AMAT?

Of course the market will pay more (typically) for the market leading company, because of:

-- market share
-- depth of product offerings
-- customer relationships
-- technical savoir-faire

etc, etc.

There are far cheaper offerings out there, but for the
reason that they do not have the demonstrated combined
power of AMAT.

To me, AMAT is the market leading company, getting stronger.

It's worth having some of that in a portfolio, if you like
the sector in the first place. This is as close to a sure thing that you will find in the semi-equip sector.

If you want to speculate more, you can certainly find lots
of good companies that are relatively cheaper and MAY give you a higher return over time.

Best wishes,
Jim
