Sorry, Don, but it is trivial. All politicians, from both parties, have times when the rigors of campaigning get to them, and they commit gaffes. Clinton did too, although he is more glib than most. Gore does it more than Clinton. I once read a story in the New Republic letting out the deep, dark secret that Ted Kennedy cannot string three sentences together without garbling them, unless he is reading them. Bush has done fine in interviews. He has shown a flair for public speaking. He will be fine........

You could understand every word Clinton spoke but you couldn't believe any of them. He may have know his policies at any given moment but they changed as fast as the polls changed.

Clinton spoiled them.
