August It's my understanding that cable users are divided into sections (nodes). As your node (neighborhood)gets more subscribers drawing from the same resources you may encounter some slowdown. I get a big drop in speed when the kiddies get home from school and jump online. speedguide.net Since you now have an "on all the time" connection and are an easier target for hackers to find I would recommend getting a firewall.
