GTinsdale: Short interest is available on a monthly or weekly basis at Barron's and maybe some other sites, I seem to remember on net site that has short interest but cannot remember the name of it. Otherwise, one can interpret higher prices with increasing volume(and block trades) as accumulation. Not the easiest thing to determine until after the fact.
