But what is the Universe displacing as it is expanding? Is it displacing nothingness? Or is it displacing another dimension? If the expansion increases dimension in our Universe, then it must be displacing dimension. My belief is that the whole universe is already there (leaving aside whether it is finite or infinite), regardless of whether our light has reached there yet. If our Universe is an expanding ripple, well...that ripple still expands through a medium. That medium I call the Universe--not the ripple.

Well I guess I just don't have enough understanding of physics to differentiate between a vacuum and some other kind of nothingness.....Egad!!
