I Just sent off a nasty email to buffoon.com here's what they posted..

<<11:45 ET Emulex (EMLX) : -- Update -- To respond to the inevitable questions, Briefing.com certainly does check rumors for accuracy, but when news is issued via press release from a credible press release organization, it is considered to be accurate as it is presumed to be from the company itself. In this case, the press release organization -- Internet Wire -- issued a press release in Emulex's name which was not in fact from Emulex. We have never seen such an incident before, and therefore have never had the reason or ability (there are thousands of releases each day) to check all releases. Briefing.com certainly regrets that we reported information that stemmed from a fake press release, but in our defense, we would note that this press release did come from a credible firm (Internet Wire) which does issue releases in the name of client firms. Furthermore, we attempt to keep readers up-to-date on what is moving stocks, and the word on trading floors was that newswire reports on Emulex were moving the stock. We tracked down the press release and reported what appeared to be news issued directly by the company.>>
