Yes I have. On occasion orthodox science is shaken up by data that doesn't fit in with pet theories. It is good for science and I see many shake-ups coming in the 21st Century.

I still recall the great aeronautical engineers of the late 19th century universities who flatly stated it was impossible for heavier-than-air machines to fly. When the Wright Brothers proved them wrong a few years later, they sputtered for almost a decade and kept escalating the weight of the aircraft or number of passengers... "You can't get enough lift for 10 passengers... 20 passengers... 50 passengers... etc." Finally they went and hid or died off.
