that is a good point on stops. I am not saying any of this is right. just not sure that they will be willing to go through the pain to reverse all the trades.

in a way it is the best way to deter this in the future. if the person that released the news is short from outside the US it may be very hard to find and even harder to do something about it. if they reverse the trades it will help deter this in the future.

BP...where did you find that information on Internet Wire?
You seem to know more than CNBC is reporting on the EMLX phony newsrelease. They do not know where Bloomberg got that release...which then went over to Dow Jones and Marketwatch.

Costello now quotes the NASD as saying pre-halt EMLX trades WILL STAND, and any attempts at "remedies" will be up to individual investors and their brokers. So that seems to be the final word, for now at least...
