On Monday, August 28th, both the Pre-Market and After Hours trading sessions are expected to be available as usual. Decimal Trading Phase I begins August 28th, 2000 Decimalization is the process by which the securities industry will convert the quote and trade increments from fractions to decimals (dollars & cents). Decimalization will be phased in gradually; beginning with Phase I on August 28, 2000, with full conversion expected by April 2001. Phase 1 is planned to begin on August 28, 2000, and will include 13 listed stocks and their underlying options. Starting after the market close on Friday, August 25, acceptable prices for Phase I stocks will be in minimum increments of 1 cent. For Phase I options, acceptable prices will be in minimum increments of 5 cents below $3 and 10 cents above $3.
