When the bodies that are now the earth and moon collided and formed the current earth & moon it completely smashed and melted both bodies. That is why all the heavy things like nickle sank through the molten mess and the light things like aluminum and silicon floated to the top. Any event imparting enough force to reverse the poles of this planet would similarly leave it molten and there wouldn't be any ice on the planet for a long time. Whole new continental features would eventually solidify on the surface and the rains would come again after hundreds of millions of years.

Better yet, TP should try this experiment:

Close your mouth, while it's closed drip glue on your lips, see how long it is before you stop talking.

Try this. Spin a ball, while it spins drop glue on the top, see how long it is before the top shifts to the equator.
