i see you took the opportunity to remind me in a roundabout way about them tires...-g- the main failing of JIT is imo the problem of sudden 'force majeure' supply disruptions, but other than i think we can assume that it has been a real productivity boon...in conjunction with the instant availability of supply/demand information it has certainly helped to alleviate the cyclical behavior of the economy. it is wrong however to assume that it has killed economic cycles per se - as the bust, when it comes, will prove in spades.
