OTOH, The folks over at MU have often let ego drive their decisions rather than risk/reward tradeoffs, so I don't see them blinking, either.

It depends how many other DRAM mfrs. blink first. MU would be have to give serious thought to a staring contest if there was significant risk of not being able to ship any DDR or SDRAM.

I seriously doubt RMBS is going to try to stare down MU until they have quite a few other players already committed.
