chic, My statement was a hypothetical. Do you know a hypothetical when you see one? Micron, to name a very good example of one, as it would be if* they lost a lawsuit to Rambus and did NOT get SDRAM or DDR licenses.* My point was that the fear of such an event occurring will push a negotiated settlement. Any company that takes Rambus to court and leaves it up to the court to determine whether or not Rambus is or isn't entitled to royalties for SDRAM and DDR is risking exactly what Rambus has clearly said - a denial of a license to use Rambus IP in the manufacture of their SDRAM and DDR. There isn't any distortion in that. As to the value of RDRAM by itself, let's just agree to disagree. Barry
