If it's loud and hot the blame probably lies with the PC maker rather than AMD. The noise comes from a bad fan design, and the heat partly from the same cause. Intel is in multiple businesses, but I'll bet the vast majority of their profit, both on a percentage and total basis comes from the PC. They are the gorilla (probably) of the PC business but not their other businesses so the gorilla advantage doesn't apply. Do any of the non PC business show any sign of of a tornado? It will take a huge amount of non PC business to overpower the effect of the PC on the bottom line.
