dmf, another example of company naming, there was a computer company a while back that hurriedly put together the name of X Systems Company, while they were deciding on a name. Sure enough, they became known, for as long as they lasted, as Exsysco.

Dear dmf: Gus was right [going back to my McData naming question in August].

I dropped EMC's IR a note (in August) and just received the following back:

"Thank you for your note to EMC regarding McData's name. In my investigation this is what I learned. Jack McDowell is the Chairman, CEO and President (the Mc of McData) and Data is what they do....connect things to data.

I hope this helps. "

Regards,

Lynn
