I've got a feeling that the perpetrator, when caught, will have to disgorge profits to the government, and/or pay penalties to the government -- not to you or your fellow fu**ees. The SEC and/or Janet Reno will then hold a news conference and talk about how justice has been done, a message has been sent, and confidence in the markets has been restored.

Simultaneously, the class action lawyers "representing you" <rotflmao> will file a civil suit against the sob. Any monies recovered will go to the trial lawyers, and you will get a coupon for fries and a (small) Coke at McD's.

That's how it works. If you don't like it, vote AGAINST Al Gore, the trial lawyers, and their ilk, who are pouring millions into Gore's election coffers to preserve their slop trough and are laughing at schmucks like us.

Sorry about the political commentary, but I think it's true.
