Doug: I went and checked your profile, and looked at some of your previous posts. It appears that you look for short term trades. I might be wrong...

The BRCM cup and handle covers a six month period. You keep mentioning days as being too short a period. We must be looking at different charts!

I've been successful buying on cup and handle breakouts in the past. I bought HD in Oct '97 on a high volume breakout. INTC in Oct 98. I still own 'em, by the way.

A couple of weeks ago, I bought EMC on it's breakout. I tend to buy and hold. My trading skills are minimal, although I'm working on it.

Thanks for the compliment on the CANSLIM. I've read the original book several times, and I read the Investor's Corner religiously. (Every Sunday! <grin>) I've haven't read the new book. I've been to an O'Neil seminar. Does the new book have enough new material to make it worthwhile?

I was hoping this thread would inspire folks to submit candiates for scrutiny. (Like we have with BRCM.) I would welcome to see new stocks breaking out on proper bases.
