"No shit, what law firm do you work for?"

Hey, it's costing me $5.75 per 15 minutes (that's almost $10 an hour for the innumerate out there) to read Buffy abuse, and now to read abuse directed against my profession. I'll have you know that I can abuse myself just fine, thank you.

And morefurtherover, the Doubletree here (at which fine establishment I am not actually staying) frowns on beer in their so-called "business center" where they have one brain-dead Internet connection.

I am not currently benefitted by the company of my French "guests" (more on that later, California Journal vol. 2, I think) as I stroll down the memory lane of this little section of coast, but they have outdone anything that any lawyer-bashing Thread Potatoes could ever come up with. They bestowed upon me "Le Petit Dico illustré des Avocats." [Dico = slang for dictionary]

It's a little sobering that stereotypes are exactly the same. Herewith, under the definition of "client" a rather tame sample that you can probably run through a webtransaltor without losing too much:

Prenons deux clients. Le premier est hèrèmiste, et vient de tomber pour une histoire de chèque sans provision. Le deuxième est une multinationale puissante ouverttement lésée de 250 millios de Francs par une de ses concurrentes. Tiens, non, à la réflexion, ne prenons qu’un client.

As I said, tame. The discussion of "honneur" with its mention of the American yellow pages, is very interesting.

But anyhow, there's no table service here, so I've gotta swipe another one from the Dell "e" Com conference on LINAC2000 going on here.

Wayne
