>Securities fraud is the government's business, IMHO. Million of dollars were lost today, because of this fraud. Private citizens have little or no remedies against such behavior. Were this behavior the norm, the capital
markets would collapse, as would our economy. I think we need to distinguish between the normal risks we
undertake in investing and the lies and deceptions which cost many individuals lots of money w. EMLX.<

Well stated. What are we all supposed to do now.. forget about entering a stop-less ever again? Give me a break. The consequences will be lasting if this is allowed to stand.

What a great way to undermine confidence in the markets. If the exchanges can't, or won't, defend themselves against this, it's bad news for everyone.

Hoya,

Scenario #1: You hand over thousands of dollars for safekeeping to a bank, which decamps overnight with your money.

Scenario #2: You hand over thousands of dollars for safekeeping to a bank. Rumors abound the next day that the bank is untrustworthy and may decamp with your money. You panic and close the account even though you lose a few hundred dollars for premature withdrawal. You find the day after that the rumors are false.

Would you say the Government should try to get the money you lost in Scenario #2 reimbursed?
